Stopping By The Woods on a Snowy Evening

Today was the day that Americans were introduced to this AMAZING (in my opinion) poem. The year was 1923 and the poet is Robert Frost.

An American Icon and simplistic but so very very real.  This poem was about New England however I tend to allow the poem to mirror Murphy, NC and the “real world” hustle when it comes to the everyday.  The “must do” vs. the “want to”.  No, I’m not going to go into a literary lesson or any “deeper” than I have already gone.. However I would LOVE to know your thoughts on the early Frost.

Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening

Whose woods these are I think I know.

His house is in the village though;

He will not see me stopping here

To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer

To stop without a farmhouse near

Between the woods and frozen lake

The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake

To ask if there is some mistake.

The only other sound’s the sweep

Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,

But I have promises to keep,

And miles to go before I sleep,
